Privately run canola fields at the base of Sanbangsan on Jeju's southwest coast.

Sanbangsan Canola Flower Field is a group of canola fields at the foot of Sanbangsan, a 395 m lava dome volcano in Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo, on the southwest coast of Jeju Island. Several separate fields sit against the mountain, each privately run in place of ordinary crop farming, and visitors choose one to enter. The fields are reached from the public parking lot in front of Sanbangsan Land.

Visiting the fields

The fields are private land, and the operators charge a photography fee for entry. Around March, the canola flowers reach full bloom, and photos taken then show Sanbangsan rising behind what looks like a yellow carpet of blossoms.

Nearby sights

Sanbangsan itself is part of the Jeju Island UNESCO Global Geopark and one of the island's main scenic geological features, along with Hallasan and Seongsan Ilchulbong. It has a prominent view of the nearby volcanic Yongmeori Coast. Other places in the area include Sagye Beach.
