RecommendedNatureCity Park

A riverside park on the south bank of the Han River in Seoul, known for its bridge fountain.

Banpo Hangang Park sits on the south bank of the Han River in Seoul, between Hannam Bridge upstream and Dongjak Bridge downstream, with Banpo Bridge (Jamsu Bridge) running through the middle of the site. The park was developed as part of the Han River Renaissance project and is best known for the Banpo Bridge Moonlight Rainbow Fountain, which runs along both sides of the bridge.

Moonlight Rainbow Fountain

The fountain spans a total length of 1,140 meters and was listed by Guinness World Records in 2008 as the longest bridge fountain in the world. At night it is lit by around 200 lights, with the water taking on rainbow colors as it is illuminated.

Facilities and Seorae Island

The park has sports facilities including a splash playground, an inline skating track, a soccer field, and a basketball court. Two observation cafes, Noeul Cafe and Guleum Cafe, stand at the southern end of Dongjak Bridge and look out over the river, the sky, and the buildings along the riverbank. Seorae Island, an artificial island connected to the park between Banpo Bridge and Dongjak Bridge, offers a walking course that circles the island; canola and buckwheat are planted there according to season, and the island draws walkers when the canola flowers bloom in spring, an event marked by the Seorae Island Butterfly and Canola Flower Festival. The park also has an ecological learning center, a boat dock, bicycle paths, and picnic areas.
