A secondhand market near Dongmyo Station selling used clothing and a wide range of other goods.
Dongmyo Flea Market started in the late 1980s. It has shrunk from its earlier size but still draws people looking for unusual finds, with clothing, shoes, wallets, watches, electronics, old books, and film posters all sold side by side. It sits a five-minute walk from Exit 3 of Dongmyo Station on Subway Line 1.
Secondhand Clothing and Pricing
Used clothing is the market's most popular category. Vendors buy up clothes collected in apartment complex recycling bins under yearly contracts, paying around 250 to 300 won per kilogram. Most items are then resold for about 1,000 won, though fur or leather pieces can run into the tens of thousands of won, and designer items can reach 100,000 won or more. Word of mouth has brought bargain hunters from outside Seoul as well as online resellers buying in bulk.
Market Hours
Around 250 street vendors set up stalls. Holiday afternoons are when the market is most active. The market runs partially on weekdays and stays open all day on weekends.
