Woraksan National Park is a mountainous national park renowned for its breathtaking valleys, rugged terrain, and rich ecological and cultural resources.
One of Korea’s five most famous mountains, it was designated a national park on December 31, 1984. This mountainous park blends nature and culture.
Major Attractions and Tourist Destinations
- Wolaksan Yeongbong Peak (Guksabong Peak): At 1,097 meters above sea level, its steep rock faces and breathtaking peaks make it a sacred mountain.
- Deokjusa Temple and Mireukri Temple Site: Temples and historic sites that preserve numerous relics and cultural assets from the Silla Dynasty.
- Hwayang Valley: Rivers, waterfalls, and lush forests make this a great spot for trekking and nature appreciation. The 40-meter-high Cheonju Falls are particularly famous.
- Chungjuho Lake and Cheongpungho Lake: Nearby lakeside tourist destinations offer boating, fishing, and walking trails.
- Connect with nearby natural attractions, such as the Danyang Palgyeong Scenic Area and Mungyeong Saejae Provincial Park.
