Ssamzigil is a crafts shopping mall in Insadong, Seoul, widely regarded as the district's most representative spot. It brings together traditional craftsmanship reinterpreted in a modern style. Visitors can browse ceramics, textiles, metalwork, and woodcraft alongside design goods made by younger, independent designers.

Shops and Culture

The mall houses shops selling high-end traditional crafts made by Korea's Living National Treasures (인간문화재) as well as contemporary craft pieces and design products with a Korean aesthetic. Alongside established craft shops in ceramics, textiles, metal, and wood, Ssamzigil also has shops run by young designers offering more experimental work. Exhibitions and performances are held throughout the building as part of its ongoing cultural programming.

One-Day Classes

Ssamzigil offers one-day classes where visitors can make their own craft items, including pottery, mother-of-pearl inlay (najeon), leather, glass, and soap. The classes are set up for a broad range of visitors, including adults and children, and friends or couples, to take part in Korean arts and culture together.
