Amorepacific Museum of ArtClaimed by the owner

The Amorepacific Museum of Art (APMA) grew out of a museum that displayed artwork collected by Amorepacific's founder, the late Suh Sung-whan, and took its current name in 2009. It occupies the first floor of Amorepacific's headquarters building in Yongsan, a building known for its design based on the motif of white porcelain. The museum was set up as an "open space for discovering beauty in everyday life" and to communicate with the public.

Collection and Exhibitions

The museum collects, researches, and exhibits both Korean antique art and contemporary art from Korea and abroad, and supports related researchers, academic societies, and young artists. Its basement-level exhibition hall hosts a changing program of special exhibitions spanning antique and contemporary art as well as Korean art specifically.

The Atrium

The building's atrium rises through the first three above-ground floors. On its first floor are the museum lobby, a museum shop, an exhibition space called "APMA Cabinet," and apLAP, a library of exhibition catalogues from around the world.
