Bonte Museum is an art museum on Jeju Island. Its name comes from the Korean word for "original form," reflecting its stated aim of exploring the roots of culture beneath layers of history. The museum is split into two exhibition spaces, one for traditional Korean handicrafts and one for modern and contemporary art.

Architecture by Ando Tadao

The building was designed by Pritzker Prize winning architect Ando Tadao. It uses his signature exposed concrete alongside light and water as structural elements, following a design concept described as "tradition and modernity in harmony with the land of Jeju." The layout was planned around this idea, dividing the museum into separate wings for craft and art exhibits.

Collection and programs

The traditional craft wing holds Korean handicrafts, while the modern art wing includes works by artists such as Pablo Picasso, Yayoi Kusama, Nam June Paik, and Salvador Dali. Beyond exhibitions, the museum also runs charitable work, education programs, seminars, and lectures.
