Travel Map: Gyeonggi
Everland | 애버랜드
Korea’s largest theme park, a full day trip from Seoul
Worth Visiting?
Yes, if you have a full day to spare. Everland is in Yongin (40-80 minutes from Seoul), entirely outdoors, and huge and hilly. But that is exactly why it works. Crowds spread out, rides are longer and more intense than Lotte World, and the seasonal gardens are genuinely impressive.
Great for thrill seekers, groups of friends, and families. Bring comfortable shoes and water.
Highlights
T Express
The star attraction. A renowned wooden roller coaster, often called one of the best in Asia. It looks as terrifying in person as in the photos. Go here first thing in the morning or expect 90-150 minute waits on busy days.
Safari World and Lost Valley
Surprisingly popular even with adults. Live animals in an open environment, plus a water-based ride through animal habitats. Wait times average 60-120 minutes.
Seasonal Gardens
Tulip festivals in spring, rose gardens in summer, Halloween and Christmas transformations. All genuinely well done. The gardens alone are worth a visit during peak bloom.
Crowds and Wait Times
Crowds spread out better than Lotte World. Even when busy, it rarely feels compressed. Weekends and cherry blossom season get the busiest. Safari rides bottleneck early, so go there first if you cannot miss them.
| Ride | Busy Day Wait |
|---|---|
| T Express | 90 – 150 minutes |
| Safari World / Lost Valley | 60 – 120 minutes |
| Thunder Falls, Rolling X-Train | 30 – 70 minutes |
| Smaller rides and gardens | Minimal waits |
Waits drop significantly after 4 pm. Kids rides and calm attractions are well separated from thrill rides, which helps with pacing.
Best Time to Visit
Based on reddit reviews, naver reviews and personal experience. Your mileage may vary.
- Best days: Weekdays, especially Tuesday to Thursday. Avoid public holidays and school breaks.
- Best seasons: Autumn for cooler weather and lighter crowds. Spring for flowers but busiest by far. Summer is hot. Drink plenty of water.
- Day strategy: Enter at opening, hit T Express or Safari first. Midday for food and slower attractions. Late afternoon for shorter lines and atmosphere.
Getting There
By Subway + Shuttle
Take the subway to Jeondae-Everland Station (the last stop on the Everline / Yongin Light Rail). From there, a free shuttle bus runs to the Everland entrance. The Everline connects to Giheung Station on the Bundang Line.
By Bus from Seoul
- Bus 5002 from Gangnam Station (Line 2), Exit 10. Direct route, takes 40-80 minutes depending on traffic.
- Buses also available from Gangbyeon Station.
By Shuttle Bus (Recommended for Tourists)
Bookable shuttle buses depart from major Seoul areas:
- Gangbuk route: Myeongdong / Hongdae / Dongdaemun
- Gangnam route: Gangnam / Sindorim / Yeongdeungpo / Sinnonhyeon
Shuttles are convenient and save energy, but you may be restricted to a set return time. Book through Klook or KKday.
By Car
Everland has a large paid parking area. If the main lot is full, staff guide you to overflow lots with a free shuttle to the entrance (about 5 minutes).
Local Tips
- Q-Pass (fast pass) is highly recommended on weekends if you can spare the cost.
- You can move between park areas using scenic chairlifts and a cable car, which saves energy on the hilly terrain.
- Food quality is decent and varied enough though still theme-park priced.
- During Halloween and winter festivals, Everland leans hard into theming and goes all out.
