The Cheongpung Lake Cable Car (청풍호반 케이블카) connects Multae-ri in Cheongpung-myeon with the top of Bibongsan, a 531-meter peak at the center of Cheongpung Lake in Jecheon. The cable car covers the 2.3-kilometer route in about 10 minutes at an average speed of 5 meters per second, making the summit accessible to children and elderly visitors without a hike.

Route and Name

The cable car makes a round trip on its 2.3-kilometer route between the lakeside station at Multae-ri and the summit station on Bibongsan. Bibongsan takes its name from a resemblance to a phoenix (bonghwang) brooding over its egg on the summit before taking flight in search of food.
