40계단 문화관
The 40 Steps, where refugees gathered during the Korean War, served as a family reunion and marketplace, symbolizing the joys and sorrows of those times.
This area vividly captures the atmosphere of the 1950s and 1960s with sculptures and murals depicting everyday life in Korea, as well as recreated old buildings.
Designated the “Best Street” by Busan City in 2004, the area has gained recognition as a cultural space offering a glimpse into the lives of refugees, along with the transportation, commercial, and residential environments of the time.
The 40 Steps hold deep symbolic significance as a place where refugees from Seoul to Busan reunited with their families and established their new homes. Visitors can also explore the museum and exhibition halls.
This street offers a wealth of attractions, including sculptures, old market scenes, and mural galleries, making it a great place to experience Busan’s modern and contemporary history and culture.
