Travel Map: Seoul
Lotte World Tower | 롯데월드타워
Seoul’s tallest building and the view that puts the whole city in perspective
Introduction
555 metres, 123 floors, the tallest building in Korea. The observatory at the top (Seoul Sky) gives you the best panoramic view of the city. Connected to Lotte World Mall and the theme park in Jamsil.
Worth Visiting?
Yes, if you want the single best panoramic view of Seoul. At 555 metres and 123 floors, this is the tallest building in Korea and you can see the Han River, mountains, and the full sprawl of the city from the top. The observatory (Seoul Sky) sits on floors 117-123 and the elevator gets you there in about a minute.
Skip it if heights genuinely bother you, or if the weather is hazy. The view loses most of its impact on low-visibility days.
Highlights
Seoul Sky Observatory
Floor-to-ceiling glass walls on every side. On a clear day you can see surprisingly far. Mountains, the river bending through the city, and the grid of neighborhoods clicking into place below you. It is one of those views that helps you mentally map Seoul.
Sky Deck (118F)
A Guinness-certified glass floor observation deck. You stand on transparent panels and look straight down 118 floors. Some people freeze, some people love it. Either way, it is a memorable few minutes.
Sky Terrace (120F)
An outdoor terrace near the top. Fresh air and an unobstructed view without glass in the way. Wind can be strong up here.
Sky Bridge Tour
A guided outdoor walk on a bridge at 541 metres. You wear a safety harness and walk across the outside of the building. It is weather-dependent, limited capacity, and has age/height/weight restrictions. Book well in advance if this interests you.
Local Tips
- Go on a clear day. Check air quality and visibility before buying tickets. A hazy day makes this not worth it.
- Arrive 60-90 minutes before sunset. You get the daytime view, sunset colours, and city lights in one visit.
- Buy tickets online. It is cheaper and you skip the queue at the ticket counter.
- Plan about 1.5-2 hours for the full experience including photos and a drink at one of the cafes.
- Tripods and selfie sticks are restricted on the glass floor and terrace.
- The tower connects directly to Lotte World Mall. Easy to combine with shopping, food, or a visit to the aquarium downstairs.
Getting There
By Subway (Recommended)
- Jamsil Station (Line 2 / Line 8). Follow signs to Lotte World Tower & Mall through the underground passage. Short indoor walk from the station to the mall entrance.
